The purpose of this position is to ensure accurate estimating of injection molding/thermoforming tooling and finished product. This position facilitates client quoting supplier sourcing production planning supporting on-time order fulfillment.

Role and Responsibilities

Analyze engineering models/drawings to define the sequence of operations to ensure that the design intent and component quality can be achieved.
Make proper estimations taking into consideration such factors as materials tooling (cavities family molds overmolds gating strategies etc) manufacturing times inspection times and types of equipment required.
Work closely with mold/forming experts Quality Engineering Management and other team members to successfully satisfy the end customer.
Engage in technical discussions to support to machinists and process engineers.
Rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Communicating with customers and partners to accurately define requirements and expectations.
Work with outside vendors/services to achieve best possible prices.
Consolidating all outside costs and internal costs associated with process time in engineering fabrication assembly finishing and quality control
Creating detailed quote packages for final review.
Managing quote logs and prioritizes assignments.
May perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience engineering or related technical field
Five years Cost estimating experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience (injection mold and/or thermoforming) estimating prototype low volume and high-volume quantities.
Experience with sourcing tooling and finishes.

Preferred Skills

Good verbal and written communication skills.
Wide degree of technical competency creativity and self-motivation is expected.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)
Ability to Review customer RFQs to determine material requirements processing and job routing.
Ability to read and interpret CAD blueprints technical drawings and specifications.
