(IEI) is growing and were looking for a dynamic visionary leader as Vice President of Operations (VPOPS) to help shape the next chapter of our success in the Los Angeles CA area. As VPOPS you will lead the implementation and execution of Infrastructure Engineering Incs (IEI) sales and growth strategy aligned with the firms overall business objectives and the LA market plan. This executive role requires proven leadership experience and the ability to drive business performance through collaboration across Project Delivery Marketing HR and Accounting. The VPOPS builds and strengthens client relationships engages technical and office leadership in business development and represents IEI at industry events and associations. The position also supports Principals in advancing strategic government relations initiatives. In this leadership role you will expand IEIs presence in key transportation and infrastructure sectors including government agencies such as LA County Public Works LA Metro Caltrans and the City of Los Angeles. This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership in pursuit planning proposal development and marketing execution. The VPOPS ensures that business development tools and systemsincluding CRM databasesremain current efficient and actionable to support firmwide growth and workforce diversity initiatives. Essential Duties/Functions and Responsibilities: - Oversees and provides direction to all disciplines to ensure delivery of all project elements (plans specs permits and reports etc.) are technically accurate.
- Ensures all projects comply with Quality Control guidelines to improve overall project quality and accuracy.
- Ensures project delivery team secures executed contracts Notice to Proceed and Subconsultant Agreements prior to inception of project services.
- Ensures project delivery team safeguards firms exposure against risks associated with scope and scope creep fees and schedule by actively monitoring them and promptly communicating deviations to the clients.
- Ensures project delivery team monitors clients project delivery goals and proactively identifying issues and obstacles which may compromise or influence achievement of such goals.
- Oversees and provides direction where needed on contract negotiations with clients in development of scope fees and schedule.
- Manages technical staff within office and coordinates with other office leaders in assigning and securing required technical and other tangible resources for project delivery.
- Develops forecasts for staffing needs in comparison with available capacity locally and firm wide.
- Regularly coordinates and updates Executive Vice President regarding the performance of the office.
- Actively engages in supervision of design and inspection to ensure IEI policies and procedures are adhered and works closely with Executive Vice President and HR in hiring firing rewarding recognizing and disciplining staff.
Education and/or Experience: - Bachelors Degree in either Engineering Marketing or Business from an accredited fouryear college or university or approved equivalent required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in CA required; PMP required; MA or MBA preferred
- Minimum 20 years of experience including prior Executive Leadership roles a must
- Ideally advanced level understanding of A/E/C Industry and Government Affairs is preferred
- Familiarity with Government Contracts; including experience in government work within LA County Public Works; LA Metro; CalTrans; City of LA Public Works
Knowledge and Skills: - Experience working within ERP CRM and/or system in a Corporate and/or Consulting environment (i.e. Deltek Paycor etc) a must
- Must be savvy in MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook and Teams);
- Advanced Presentation and Communication skills required
Other Qualifications: Active Professional Engineer License for CA required; experience within the AEC Industry including government agencies contract a must; Civil/Structural Engineer Consulting experience is desirable. Must be open to Travel up to 25% including overnight stays throughout the year. Compensation: Salary Range: $190K - $320K Infrastructure Engineering Inc (IEI) is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position based on the successful applicants education experience knowledge skills abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. Working Conditions: - IEI will provide a company vehicle for fieldwork with acceptable drivers record.
- Must be physically capable of walking and moving about on the construction sites have good hand-eye coordination and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions or in-progress construction hazards: fumes toxic chemicals risk of electric shock and vibration. Often works around dust asphalt and concrete.
- Sometimes needs to put in extra hours including weekends to keep up with intense construction work at times and deal with unexpected situations and accidents.
- Spends some time working indoors to review blueprints and write reports.
- Usually works a standard 40-hour workweek either daytime or nighttime.
- Usually works in outside weather conditions.
