Job Summary

We are seeking an exceptional Systems Development Engineer to develop and deploy strategic initiatives that aim to revolutionize equipment monitoring data integration and Computer Vision capabilities across our global fulfillment network.

Our environment is global and complex with a variety of software and systems including industrial machines and protocols. We are constantly innovating on behalf of the customer through the development of custom hardware and software technology solutions.

An ideal candidate will be capable of supporting the development of next-gen software platforms and automation solutions. You will work closely with an internal inter-disciplinary team and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition execution and test. You must be responsive flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment.

As a member of this team you will be involved with the development of edge-based solutions where the cloud meets the real world in the heart of our fulfillment centers. The ideal candidate will enjoy working at multiple layers of the stack from development of solutions for low level embedded Linux control systems to developing cloud based solutions to interface with and manage fleets of real world devices.


Key job responsibilities
- Deliver technology solutions which solve difficult business problems. Contribute to of new features and designs as a technical contributor and participate in tactical implementation.
- Identify and solve ambiguous problems architectural deficiencies or areas where your teams systems hinder the innovation of other teams.
- Improve operation health by participating in design operations and post incident reviews to identify risks to resiliency. Implement high quality solutions to mitigate risks.
- Support customers and partner teams by helping apply engineering and operational best practices in part through the development of self-service tooling and high quality user documentation.
- Improves the resiliency customer experience maintainability and cost of your teams products.

About the team
You will be joining the MHE Optimization Systems Science (MOSS) team within Automation Integration Technologies (AIT) where youll drive impactful initiatives while working alongside teams developing AI and ML solutions for our Material Handling Systems (MHS).

Were building more than just a unified equipment services platform were creating the foundation for next-generation ML and AI applications in material handling systems. Our team combines expertise in distributed systems industrial automation cloud architecture and machine learning to deliver solutions that impact millions of customers daily.


- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience developing CI/CD pipelines with integration tests and observability metrics
- BS in Computer Science Electrical Computer or other related engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Low-level system experience with Linux including fleet management of edge devices
- Solid debugging skills and the ability to solve difficult problems
- 3 years of experience with C/C/Java/Go/Python/TypeScript or other high-level programming languages
- Strong understanding of Ethernet-based networking fundamentals and low-level troubleshooting
- Abilty to travel up to 10% as well as eligibility for international travel

- 5 years of hands-on development with the Go programming language
- 3 years of experience developing SaaS and IaaS applications utilizing AWS CDK in TypeScript
- Experience developing Front end applications using JavaScript/React/Redux
- Experience with Industrial control systems (PLC/SCADA programming and troubleshooting)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
