Our Client is seeking a French ECT to work within a large successful mixed secondary school in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a new teacher who is passionate about languages and looking to complete their induction in a school that values MFL highly. The successful ECT will teach French across KS3 and KS4 deliver engaging lessons and help promote language learning through clubs and cultural events.
School Information
This 11 to 18 comprehensive has around 1350 pupilsand maintains strong academic results with 93 percent of students achieving grades 9 to 4 in English and Maths. The school is well known for its stable leadership strong pastoral systems and clear behaviour policies which create a calm and purposeful learning environment.
The MFL department is innovative and well resourced with access to interactive whiteboards language learning software and a wide bank of differentiated resources. Schemes of work are fully planned but leave room for teacher creativity and adaptation. There are opportunities for European trips and cultural projects as part of the wider school offer.
ECTs describe the school as structured inclusive and professionally supportive. The ECT programme includes mentoring regular developmental observations collaborative planning time and targeted CPD on areas such as questioning modelling and assessment. ECTs are given a reduced timetable and protected time for planning and reflection.
