Job Title: Expert Systems Analyst

Position Overview

The position is in support (testing) of the UISIm project a multi-year effort to redesign implement and test business process improvements for the Department of Labors customers partners and internal staff. UISIm replaces the 40 year old Unemployment Insurance (UI) legacy computer systems and manual procedures with a new and improved integrated computer system.

Responsibilities

• Work as a liaison among NYS Department of Labor Subject Matter Experts and ITS Technical Teams to elicit analyze communicate and validate business process and system requirements.
• Query interpret and analyze data to inform decision-making and system improvements.
• Document processes using flow diagrams GUI mockups and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate use cases and process flows with requirements teams for seamless design.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate documentation.
• Conduct testing debugging and performance monitoring.
• Manage triage and track incident defect and enhancement tickets.

Qualifications

• 7 years leading a team of technical systems analysts in requirement gathering for complex projects.
• 7 years developing BRDs SRS and other system requirement artifacts.
• 5 years creating SQL queries to analyze and validate backend data.
• 4 years creating and analyzing workflow diagrams using MS Visio.
• 3 years creating wireframes for screen mockups or requirements.
