Position: IT Application Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented IT Application Manager to serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams ensuring smooth execution of supply chain technology initiatives. This role will focus on translating business needs into actionable technical deliverables optimizing ERP (Sage X3) and WMS functionalities and supporting system integrations. The IT Application Manager will work closely with internal departments and external partners to document and refine requirements oversee testing and ensure that systems deliver measurable outcomes. This position plays a critical role in the alignment of supply chain operations with digital transformation strategies bridging the gap between strategic vision and technical execution.

Work Location: Cary NC Hybrid (Tue Wed Thu)

Travel: 40 50% to Texas site in the first year then drops to 10%
New distribution center in Texas

Role Overview

Acts as a bridge between Supply Chain and IT

Supports system integrations (SAP ERP Sage X3)
Oversees testing
Main focus: alignment between Supply Chain and IT

Qualifications

Bachelor s degree in Information Systems Supply Chain Management or Computer Science
3 5 years of experience in IT applications management ERP/WMS administration or business process optimization
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Experience with Sage X3 (preferred not required) WMS and supply chain best practices

Reports directly to Head of IT

Compensation: $120K 10% year-end bonus

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Business & IT alignment:

Act as the bridge between the business and IT ensuring technology solutions align with supply chain needs.
Work closely with supply chain teams IT and external partners to define and prioritize system requirements for ERP (Sage X3) WMS and other supply chain technologies.
Assist in developing user stories requirement documents and test cases to drive development and implementation.

System enhancement & Integrations:

Support and oversee ERP and WMS integrations with internal and external systems ensuring optimal performance.
Collaborate with IT teams to expand integrations including upcoming projects like ERP-to-PIM ERP-to-CRM and external connections with suppliers tollers and transportation partners.
Ensure that new EDI and API integrations meet operational requirements and support long-term scalability.

Testing & Process optimization:

Oversee testing and validation of system enhancements to ensure functional alignment with business requirements.
Work with end-users to troubleshoot issues gather feedback and drive process improvements.
Support the execution of supply chain technology initiatives ensuring measurable outcomes in terms of efficiency compliance and automation.

Continuous Improvement & support:

Monitor and identify opportunities for system improvements automation and optimization.
Work with IT leadership to define long-term application roadmaps aligned with the company s digital transformation strategy.
Stay updated on best practices and emerging trends in supply chain technology and ERP/WMS enhancements.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor s degree in information systems Supply Chain Management Computer Science or a related field.

Work Experience:

3-5 years of experience in IT applications management ERP/WMS administration or business process optimization.
Experience working with ERP systems (Sage X3 preferred) WMS solutions and integrations with internal and external platforms.
Familiarity with supply chain operations and best practices.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Ability to translate business needs into technical requirements and facilitate development efforts.
Experience with testing and validation of system enhancements.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work across departments and with external vendors.
Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
