Whats the Job
As a Safety Manager at Oats Overnight you will be responsible for leading and managing the organizations health safety and environmental programs; ensuring compliance with regulations; and promoting a safe work environment through policy development training and incident investigation. The Safety Manager will lead best practice and process improvement initiatives at regional locations to foster a culture of safety as a pillar of business success.
What Youll Be Doing: Stop Scanning and Read This Part
- Collaborate with management to develop implement and maintain comprehensive safety programs policies and procedures
- Identify potential hazards and risks associated with equipment processes and work areas
- Conduct safety training sessions for employees; ensure new hires receive proper safety orientation and provide ongoing safety education and awareness to promote a strong safety culture.
- Regularly inspect the facility equipment and work areas to identify potential safety hazards and/or non-compliance with food and safety standards
- Investigate accidents incidents and near-misses to determine the root causes and implement preventative measures
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and proactive behavior among employees; communicate safety-related information updates and reminders
- Partner with HR team on coordination of Workers Compensation requirements and activities
- Oversee organizational efforts to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with environmental regulations
- Develop departmental safety key performance indicators.
- Prepare and maintain safety records and reports.
- Stay current with changes in safety regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure safety procedures are followed.
What Youve Done and Who You Are
- Bachelors degree in occupational safety and health environmental health or a related field. CSP or OHST certifications preferred
- 5-7 years of applicable job experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to lead others through influence
- Computer proficiency with MS Office
- Razor-sharp problem-solving skills
- Able to systematize and churn through a large volume of information and responsibilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proven aptitude to manage many competing projects and priorities
- Able to move fluidly between collaborative and independent work styles
- Adept at making assessments quickly and identifying the best course of action

Physical Demands
- Constant periods standing and walking through production and warehouse spaces
- Regular periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to work near food ingredients and exposure to food allergens
- Location: inside an air-conditioned manufacturing and warehouse environment
- You must be able to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards
