In BARDS (Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences) a distinguished department within our companys renowned Research and Development division quantitative scientists in partnership with other subject matter experts apply state-of-the art scientific methodologies and tools to enable the discovery development regulatory approval manufacturing and marketing of medical drugs and vaccines for the benefit of patients and global human health.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide data analytic solutions for medical imaging and computer vision analysis

  • Apply sound scientific principles and data analytic methods to Pharmaceutical Research and Development (R&D) projects.

  • Understand customer requests and effectively communicate analysis results to customers.

Primary Activities:

  • Serve as clinical digital pathology data analytic representative in cross-functional teams for pharmaceutical R&D.

  • Collaborate with people from diverse background and expertise including research scientists clinical scientists regulatory experts IT specialists etc.

  • Identify opportunities to add value to different phase of pharmaceutical R&D projects.

  • Identify potential data and data-analysis related problems propose solutions and implement them.

  • Analyzes data and interpret results.

  • Communicate analysis results effectively to audience with diverse background and expertise through both oral presentations and written reports.

  • Provide responses to data and analysis related queries from research scientists clinical scientists and regulatory agencies.

  • Engage in AI/ML and statistical methodology research.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • PhD in Computer Science Biomedical Engineering Computational Pathology or related field with focus on medical imaging and computational biology OR

  • Masters degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Deep expertise in computer vision and deep learning architectures (CNNs U-Net Vision Transformers attention mechanisms) for histopathology image analysis including experience with multi-scale patch-based learning and gigapixel image processing

  • Proven track record with digital pathology workflows including H&E IHC multiplex immunofluorescence analysis and hands-on experience with whole slide imaging formats (SVS TIFF) annotation tools and pathology imaging standards (DICOM-WSI)

  • Strong programming skills in Python with expertise in PyTorch/TensorFlow medical imaging libraries (OpenSlide Pillow) and experience with annotation platforms and pathology-specific ML frameworks

  • Demonstrated interest in methodology research and the application of novel methods to real-world problems.

  • Ability to learn be proactive and motivated and consistently focus on details and prompt execution.

  • Ability to collaborate with scientists and work effectively on multidisciplinary teams.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is

$114700.00 - $180500.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employees position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills geographic location government requirements and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive if applicable.
