    Marcellin College a leading Catholic boys school presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate School Counsellorto join our Student Wellbeing Team on a full-time ongoing basis commencing Term 1 2026.

    As a School Counsellor you will play a pivotal role in supporting students mental health emotional resilience and overall wellbeing. You will provide counselling assessment and early intervention services working collaboratively with students staff and families to nurture a safe inclusive and supportive environment.

    You will be part of a dynamic and collegial Student Wellbeing Team working closely with the Deputy Principal of Student Wellbeing Directors of Students Year Level Leaders and other key staff to deliver proactive wellbeing initiatives and responsive support programs. Through your expertise and care you will help ensure that every young man at Marcellin College is empowered to flourish and realise his full potential.

    To be successful in this role you will bring:
    • A willingness to uphold the vision and values of Marcellin College

    • Current membership with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) or Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)

    • Demonstrated experience working with adolescents in an educational or clinical setting

    • Strong knowledge of child and adolescent development mental health issues and evidence-based therapeutic interventions

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain confidentiality

    • Capacity to provide both individual and group counselling sessions as well as contribute to whole-school wellbeing programs

    • Experience in psychological assessments report writing and record-keeping in accordance with professional and ethical standards

    • A collaborative and professional approach to working with staff families and external agencies

    • Current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain them)

    Experience within a school setting or Catholic education environment will be highly regarded.
