We are hiring a Staff Nurse - Intensive Care Unit for our Hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
Work as part of the nursing team on day duty performing duties assigned by the Clinical Nurse Manager 2.
Deliver skilled evidence-based care to ICU patients and contribute to the planning monitoring and evaluation of individualised patient care.
Recognise and respond to the complex physical emotional and psychological needs of ICU patients and their families providing holistic support.
Maintain accurate controlled drug records in line with legal and professional standards.
Adhere to safe practices in the storage and administration of medications as per hospital policy NMBI and Department of Health guidelines.
Supervise and support junior nursing staff contributing to their clinical learning and professional development.
Provide holistic care and support to emergency medical and surgical patients as required.
Keep comprehensive and accurate nursing documentation and reports in line with NMBI guidelines.
Ensure correct safe and economical use of stock materials and medical equipment.
Safeguard patients personal belongings in accordance with hospital policy.
Record all nursing care and observations accurately on the Meditech Patient Information System.
Take charge of the ICU or assigned unit in the absence of the CNM when required.
Be flexible and willing to work in other hospital areas when requested.
Promptly document and report any incidents accidents near misses or complaints to the CNM and assist in follow-up investigations.
Actively participate in staff meetings team discussions and hospital committees.
Promote a patient-centred culture that values dignity respect choice and responsiveness to patient feedback.
Requirements
Fully registered in the General Division of the NMBI Register of Nurses.
Minimum of two years recent post-registration nursing experience (full-time or equivalent part-time) in an acute hospital setting.
At least two years experience in ICU or CCU nursing.
Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or be actively pursuing same.
