SEN Teaching Assistant Preverbal Autism Support (Hackney)

Were looking for passionate and reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist provision in Hackney supporting preverbal children with Autism (ASD) in a 1:2 model classroom.
Youll be part of a dedicated team helping children develop communication independence and social skills through structured routines sensory activities and visual supports.
Requirements
Supporting non-verbal pupils 1:1 and 1:2 in a structured ASD setting
Using PECS Makaton or visual aids to support understanding
Helping pupils engage in sensory and play-based learning
Working closely with teachers and therapists to track progress
Maintaining calm consistency and clear boundaries throughout the day
What were looking for:
Experience working with Autism preferably preverbal or early years SEN
Calm patient and proactive attitude
Ability to follow structured routines and use initiative
Reliability and commitment the children need consistency
Enhanced DBS (we can help with this if needed)
