WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) plays a vital role in ensuring continuity of leadership and decision-making across the departments technology and operational landscape. As DCIO youll serve as a strategic partner to the CIO overseeing a diverse IT portfolio including the Accessibility & Applications Data Analytics Salesforce and SharePoint teams. Youll drive enterprise IT strategy manage the IT budget and vendor contracts and lead cross-departmental projects that enhance service delivery. The DCIO is a hands-on leader who brings creative technical problem-solving skills and guides the day-to-day work of unit supervisors and staff.

In addition to IT leadership this role also manages department-wide operationsfrom physical space planning and building security to emergency preparedness and collaboration with the Judicial Branch and building management.

Salarynote: Although a salary range is listed salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidates qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Minimum Qualifications Substitutions Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

OR

A combination of directly related education (such as business management information technology computer science public administration etc) and professional experience overseeing information technology/data functions systems and teams which must have included a minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising staff. Experience and education must total ten (10) years.

Preferred Qualifications:In addition to the minimum qualifications the preferred applicant will also demonstrate and clearly describe the following skills and experience in their job application:
  • Strong ability to lead teams and manage diverse components with strategic oversight.

  • High comfort with technology including the ability to quickly learn niche or specialized systems.

  • Understanding of government budgeting funding processes and how they influence operations across departments.

  • Demonstrated experience making informed high-impact decisions in a complex organizational environment.

  • Experience as a working managernot just a delegatorengaged in daily problem-solving and execution.

  • Strong project management skills and ability to successfully manage vendor contracts.

  • Knowledge of digital accessibility and Title II standards as well as ensuring compliance of those standards.

  • Experience with facility or operations management.

  • Experience with fleet management.

  • Hands-on experience with budget development and oversight.

  • Knowledge of contracting and the procurement process.

  • Leadership skills and ability to mentor and coach team members.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
