Your new role
As a senior leader within the People and Culture function this role will work in close partnership with the Corporate Leadership Team to design and lead the Councils Operations Services Function ensuring the delivery of transformational - high-quality efficient and customer-focused services. This role is accountable for leading and developing teams across the following key service areas:
- HR Operations Services
- Payroll Services and Pensions
- Resourcing and talent
- Product ownership for the HR elements of the Councils ERP system
What youll need to succeed
To suceed in this role you would need to be Educated to degree level or equivalant experience you would need to be a Charted Fellow member of the CIPD.
Additionally you would would need:
- Knowledge of local government structures and procedures and a clear understanding of political frameworks
- Experience of Policy and Strategy setting in a Local Government setting
- Experience of Leading Transactional Payroll & Pension Services
- Detailed knowledge of HR practice Employment law and procedures in relation to Payroll Pensions & Recruitment matters
- Detailed knowledge of all aspects of HR strategy and practice
- Knowledge and Experience of providing advice to councillors and officers on HR processes Employment Law and Policy
- Experience of people management with the ability to effectively lead motivate and performance manage
- Ability to contribute effectively in a large complex organisation and within a political environment to support transformation and improvement
- Ability to work under pressure in a well organised manner.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels inside and outside the Council
