APAC Personal Care Application Manager

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Personal Care Application Manager is responsible for the development of hair care and Bath & shower technologies aligning with regional marketing strategy and ensure to achieve technical delivery. Strengthen in-depth technologies know-how in responsible area. Coordinate and allocate resources to Shanghai lab daily operation to ensure sufficient support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technology Development and Implementation

• Explore the unmet needs or technical gap and work closely with regional marketing technical and commercial team to develop regional innovation projects pipeline lead in developing the new applications / technologies for APAC. Manage the assigned projects by systematically design the experiments qualifying in performing the tests developing the trustable/accurate data drawing the right conclusion and reporting the results at a timely manner to support business growth.
• Work closely with global technical and marketing team to leverage global expertise extend regional capabilities and lead to implement into regional projects.
• Strengthen personal care technical capabilities for APAC team by developing new methodologies new practices and new insights.
• Work closely with plant pilot-line and manufacturing team to ensure the progress and delivery of technical transfer and local internal development projects.
• Support regional open innovation initiative and progress external collaborative projects.
• Improve Lubrizol impact in industrial associations universities and market by presenting in key tradeshow and exhibition publishing papers webinar or filing patents etc.

Sales Support

• Support the regional sales and marketing teams for key customer engagement with technical service support and customer project development mainly focus on personal care (hair care and Bath & Shower) global and regional key accounts.
• Ensure timely and appropriate technical training of sales marketing teams and distributor partners.

Laboratory Management

• Manage lead and develop the application team towards high effectiveness and operation excellence.
• Ensure that safe working practices are adhered to and maintained at all times.
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products formulations process and other know-how.

REQUIREMENTS (education experience competencies and specific job requirements):

• Master or above degree majoring in polymer material science chemistry chemical engineering or related field with 8 years of experience.
• Experience in the personal care industry highly preferred.
• Experience in polymer formulation process and product development highly preferred.
• Good understanding of customer base formulation habits technical development status or trend of different countries in Asia Pacific will be a good plus.
• Strong project management capability.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in order to drive results through cross functional environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Expected travel approximately 30%.
