About our First Nations Traineeship

Our First Nations Traineeship is a paid program designed for university students who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Its a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience at one of Australias leading law firms and take your first step towards a successful and rewarding career.

You have the opportunity to join a traineeship in one the following programs at our offices in Naarm (Melbourne) Meanjin (Brisbane) Boorloo (Perth) and Ngambri (Canberra).

  • Legal

  • Human Resources

  • Finance

  • Technology & AI

  • Marketing and Communications

This traineeship lasts for 6 months except in Legal where you will complete two 6-month rotations in different Legal teams.

  • Contribute to meaningful work across client matters and firm initiatives including supporting our Pro Bono practice within the Legal program.

  • Contribute to community initiatives through our Community Connect program where youll engage in meaningful volunteering experiences.

  • Are in your pre-penultimate year studying a relevant degree (e.g. Law Business HR Finance IT Marketing) at an Australian university.

  • Are available to work 13 days per week.

  • Have a positive attitude a genuine curiosity and a willingness to learn.
