What Youll Do
The Unit Clerk offers an exceptional patient experience for patients in our Medical Surgical unit. This role is the first point of contact for patients visitors and staff helping keep the unit running smoothly and supporting our clinical teams. Main duties include a variety of clerical tasks and receptionist functions related to patient check-in and discharge processes. The ideal candidate builds and maintains an effective rapport with patients providers coworkers and community members.
- Greet and assist patients visitors and staff in person and over the phone
- Answer calls emails and pages and direct questions to the right person
- Respond to patient call lights and help coordinate needed support with nursing and other departments
- Enter physician orders accurately
- Prepare and maintain patient charts folders and packets
- Complete admission and discharge paperwork and ensure all documentation is in the right place
- At times help interview patients complete registration forms assist with transfers and schedule follow-up appointments
- Protect patient privacy by handling all information confidentially
- Help keep the unit organized by checking supply levels placing supply orders and verifying deliveries
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Support the department with other tasks as needed
Who Were Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Two years experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors including a candidates qualifications skills competencies and experience.
