Software Development Intern, Embedded SoC Linux

Position Overview:

The Embedded Intern SoC/Linux will work on development and validation activities across DSP amplifiers and embedded Linux-based systems. This role offers hands-on experience on Linux bring up Embedded systems firmware development for professional audio devices. The intern will collaborate closely with both hardware and software teams to accelerate product feature development improve system reliability and enhance network-based update mechanisms

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on Embedded Linux development using the Yocto Project including kernel and user space integration build optimization and application packaging
• Work on custom board evaluation broad bring-up and debugging of peripherals
• Write unit tests for the peripherals and demonstrate the working of them.
• Integrate open-source tools/libraries into Yocto build system
• Assist in device setup and configuration for system verification to identify edge cases in module development
• Support the applications team in preparing and validating devices for testing and field evaluation.
• Collaborate with the hardware team on amplifier DSP and controller board bring-up debugging and performance analysis.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Electronics Electrical Embedded Systems Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong understanding of embedded systems microcontrollers or DSP fundamentals.
• Experience with C/C programming and basic knowledge of firmware or low-level driver development.
• Familiarity with Yocto Project Linux build systems or bootloader development is a plus.
• Familiarity with UART I2C SPI and networking protocols (TCP/IP UDP) is a plus.
• Contribution to Open-Source Linux based projects is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
