BBC Studios Kids & Family portfolio boasts some of the most exciting and successful local and global franchises in the world with BAFTA winning craft and storytelling. Our incredibly diverse multi-genre portfolio includes iconic titles such as Blue Peter The Dumping Ground JoJo & Gran Gran Supertato Odd Squad and The CBeebies Specials. Our teams are passionate about creating internationally world-class content for our young audiences.

Were opening up a Production Management Assistant (PMA) Talent Pool as we are anticipating a number of PMA roles needed across our productions in 2026. Currently we are predicting PMA roles on Blue Peter and CBeebies commissions (TBC).

These PMA roles are based in MediaCityUK Salford and will be hybrid working 2/3 days a week in the office along with location and studio based filming when required. Other PMA roles may be appointed on other productions from this talent pool.

HOW OUR TALENT POOLS WORK

These talent pools are an opportunity for us to reach out and engage with experienced Production Management Assistants who want to work with the Kids & Family team. Unfortunately being in the pool doesnt mean youll be guaranteed to work with us but it does mean youll be considered when opportunities arise.

These pools will form a database for us to refer to when opportunities come up. If we approach you and you are not available dont worry! We understand thats the nature of freelance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND CRITERIA

In partnership with the editorial team the Production Management Assistant will report to the Production Co-ordinator or Production Manager to provide day-to-day logistical and financial support to the production in a busy and fast-moving environment.

Were looking for candidates who possess excellent organisational and communication skills problem-solving abilities with a can-do attitude and who work well within a diverse team.

Are you the right candidate

You must have at least one credit working as a Production Management Assistant or Production Secretary within TV Broadcast production.
A keen interest in the types of programmes that we produce experience of working with Children or on Childrens content an advantage.
Have experience of providing administrative support in a busy production environment along with the ability to work in pressurised and challenging situations.
Able to manage relationships effectively while working with a variety of people and work collaboratively within a diverse team.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills and able to manage conflicting demands to meet deadlines.
A good communicator hold good attention to detail when working at pace.
Initiative and problem-solving ability and have a can-do attitude.
Confident Microsoft Word and Excel skills
A passion for driving sustainable practices across all of our productions
Experience of post production paperwork (Silvermouse) and BBC systems an advantage
