Job Summary
- Design and develop electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants pumping stations and related infrastructure.
- Author detailed technical specifications control philosophies cable/load schedules network diagrams and technical reports.
- Review MCC schematics contractor calculations and PLC/SCADA architectures; close design gaps issue technical submittals and respond to RFIs.
- Prepare technical submittals; assist FAT SAT QA/QC walkdowns and commissioning
- Supervise junior team members and review work items providing mentorship ensuring quality standards are met and fostering professional development within the team.
- Developing electrical design proposal and contributing to business development in the electrical sector.
Qualifications :
- Hold an honours degree (level 8 in the National Framework of Qualifications) or equivalent professional qualification in electrical engineering.
- Have at least 7 years relevant experience in engineering consultancy or EPC (within water wastewater or comparable heavyprocess plants
- Member of Engineers Ireland or other relevant professional body
- Chartered Engineer status is required or be on track to achieve this within the next 6 to 12 months.
- Experience in any of the following is desirable but not essential: substation design; transmission and distribution grid design and renewable power projects.
- Demonstrated understanding of watertreatment unit operations and the ability to assess existing EICA assets to develop upgrade or newbuild designs.
- Competent in producing SLDs Block Cable & NetworkInfrastructure diagrams and providing input to GAs 3D/BIM models and P&IDs.
- Exposure to PLC/SCADA integration and a working understanding of LV/MV protection coordination principles.
- Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical/MEP and at least one electricaldesign platform (TrimbleProDesign ETAP EPLAN or equivalent).
- Strong teamwork written and verbal communication and stakeholdermanagement abilities; comfortable interfacing with multidisciplinary teams vendors and contractors.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as required
Desirable:
- Proven capability with detailed EICA calculations (cable sizing voltagedrop shortcircuit earthing lighting fault studies) and equipment selection (MCCs/VFDs transformers motors instrumentation).
- Working knowledge of I.S.10101:2020 IEC/BSEN standards and WIMES specifications
- Working Knowledge of Irish and EU Health & Safety legislation (e.g. Safety Health & Welfare at Work Regulations).
- Project Management/Contract Management experience.
- Experience in liaison with ESB/Eirgrid and Grid Connections applications
