Pay Rate: $22.04/hour
Job Duties Include:
- Review the daily production sheets with the Pastry Chef/Chef de Partie and prepare the necessary food items in accordance with standards in a timely and efficient fashion to ensure that there is no interruption to guest service
- Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
- Understand and work by Bakers Percentages
- Knowledge of mixing techniques for sponges breads mousses etc.
- Ensure that station opening and closing procedures are carried out to standard
- Assumes responsibility for the basic operations of his/her station for short periods when required in the absence of the Chef De Partie or Demi CDP
Qualifications :
- Minimum 3-4 years baking/pastry experience in high volume production and ala carte plated desserts
- Experience in a luxury hotel with comparable service and standards an asset
- Red Seal Certificate (Journeymans papers) or Recognized International Equivalent considered an asset
- Demonstrates initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
