Pullman Cairns International is looking for a practical reliable Handy Person to join our Engineering team and help keep our 5-star hotel running smoothly behind the scenes.

If youve got a trade background  maybe carpentry plumbing electrical air-conditioning or general maintenance - this could be the perfect move. Youll be working mostly indoors with a small friendly team that takes pride in their work.

Youll play a crucial part in ensuring the safety comfort and satisfaction of our guests through efficient maintenance of our building and facilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Complete routine and preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public spaces
• Troubleshoot and repair a variety of facility-related issues including air-conditioning plumbing fittings and general wear and tear
• Respond promptly to restore out-of-service rooms and support the smooth running of essential building services
• Assist in system checks and minor servicing of plant and equipment
• Work collaboratively with the engineering team and liaise with external specialists when needed

Qualifications :

Qualifications & Attributes

• Proven experience in hands-on repair or maintenance roles with exposure to systems involving water air-conditioning or general infrastructure
• Comfortable using tools and fault-finding techniques to address facility-related concerns
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to technical tasks
• Strong communication and a customer-focused mindset
• Physically fit reliable and capable of working both independently and within a team
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster including mornings afternoons weekends and public holidays
