Job Summary

 

Our highly skilled multidisciplinary team requires an experienced Speech Pathologist with an interest in broadening the scope of their practice to include providing Positive Behaviour Support to NDIS participants.

We are seeking a candidate based in or close to Prahran.  The successful candidate will focus on supporting our clients living in Melbournes inner south-east and surrounds.

We have the capacity to provide a full-time or part-time position for the right person who will benefit from our extensive experience in supporting our team to be thriving clinicians who love what they do.

About the role

  • Managing a caseload and providing evidence-based therapeutic supports in a timely manner
  • Delivering much needed speech pathology and positive behaviour support to clients within schools homes and the broader community
  • Interpreting findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each client
  • Assessing clients communication and/or swallowing level of function and capacity using clinical observations and standardised assessments
  • Recommending provision of Assistive Technology to assist clients with their functional limitations and to promote independence
  • Support our clients (NDIS participants) along with their families and/or carers to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
  • Identify meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Famework with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community
  • Develop deliver and evaluate evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
  • Ensure individual plans reflect our clients goals passions and strengths
  • Build the knowledge capacity and strengths of those who support our clients - family carers friends etc

 

About you

  • Possess a positive can-do approach and mindset
  • Experienced Speech Pathologist who has worked with people requiring dysphagia management and havee complex communication needs (i.e. ASD ADHD ID related)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues clients and their support networks to make a real and lasting difference
  • Strive for continuous improvement of our practices and outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain consistent and regular contact with all stakeholders
  • Current drivers licence and own reliable vehicle

Qualifications :

 

  • Degree qualified Speech Pathologist
  • Current certified practising membership with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA)
