Job Summary

This Supervisor-Capacity Management is a player coach who leads a team of Capacity Managers responsible for securing and maintaining reliable carrier capacity across all markets. This leadership role ensures operational excellence and team development while driving accountability and performance in a fast-paced logistics environment. The Supervisor focuses on execution coaching and KPI management serving as the link between frontline operations and senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and coach Capacity Managers to meet performance goals related to margin on-time delivery and carrier utilization

  • Conduct regular 1:1s performance reviews and team huddles to reinforce priorities and skill development

  • Actively involved in the recruitment process including conducting interviews for prospective team members

  • Foster a collaborative high-energy culture aligned with All in to Win² values

Operational Execution

  • Oversee daily load coverage across all markets ensuring customer expectations are met

  • Actively contribute to load booking and carrier relationship development in a player coach capacity

  • Monitor KPIs including load count pre-book% tracking compliance call volume and margin

  • Partner with Planning and Account Management to align capacity with customer needs

  • Escalate service issues and coverage gaps to leadership

Carrier Relations

  • Support team in building and maintaining carrier relationships

  • Ensure carrier compliance with company standards and regulations

  • Review carrier scorecards and guide coaching conversations

Process & Technology Adoption

  • Enforce SOPs and drive adoption of tools like Macropoint Text Locate and Highway

  • Identify workflow improvements to increase team efficiency and accuracy

  • Support automation initiatives as directed by leadership

Communication & Reporting

  • Provide updates to DirectorLogistics Operations

  • Serve as the escalation point for day-to-day coverage issues

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management or related field (preferred)

  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in capacity management carrier sales or logistics operations; leadership experience strongly preferred.

  • Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced results-oriented environment

  • Strong analytical problem-solving and follow-through capabilities

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across internal and external stakeholders

  • Proficient in TMS platforms carrier tracking tools and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Demonstrates commitment to company values and leads by example
