This Supervisor-Capacity Management is a player coach who leads a team of Capacity Managers responsible for securing and maintaining reliable carrier capacity across all markets. This leadership role ensures operational excellence and team development while driving accountability and performance in a fast-paced logistics environment. The Supervisor focuses on execution coaching and KPI management serving as the link between frontline operations and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and coach Capacity Managers to meet performance goals related to margin on-time delivery and carrier utilization
Conduct regular 1:1s performance reviews and team huddles to reinforce priorities and skill development
Actively involved in the recruitment process including conducting interviews for prospective team members
Foster a collaborative high-energy culture aligned with All in to Win² values
Operational Execution
Oversee daily load coverage across all markets ensuring customer expectations are met
Actively contribute to load booking and carrier relationship development in a player coach capacity
Monitor KPIs including load count pre-book% tracking compliance call volume and margin
Partner with Planning and Account Management to align capacity with customer needs
Escalate service issues and coverage gaps to leadership
Carrier Relations
Support team in building and maintaining carrier relationships
Ensure carrier compliance with company standards and regulations
Review carrier scorecards and guide coaching conversations
Process & Technology Adoption
Enforce SOPs and drive adoption of tools like Macropoint Text Locate and Highway
Identify workflow improvements to increase team efficiency and accuracy
Support automation initiatives as directed by leadership
Communication & Reporting
Provide updates to DirectorLogistics Operations
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Logistics Supply Chain Management or related field (preferred)
3-5 years of progressive experience in capacity management carrier sales or logistics operations; leadership experience strongly preferred.
Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced results-oriented environment
Strong analytical problem-solving and follow-through capabilities
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across internal and external stakeholders
Proficient in TMS platforms carrier tracking tools and Microsoft Office Suite
