What is this career opportunity
The Architecture & Engineering Division (A&E) is looking for a professional with communication skills and architecture mechanical electrical or other engineering field with construction knowledge to join our design supervisor will be an architect and your coworkers are comprised of architects and engineers who work hard but enjoy having a good will also work in conjunction with the construction management position provides design-phase management of projects for the State of range from minor remodels and deferred maintenance to new building of the position include:
Management of external design professionals on capital projects ensuring alignment with project goals budgets and timelines.
Guide/manage projects from inception space planning programming cost estimating construction documents and through bidding and negotiations.
Advocate for long-term energy efficiency building performance and accessibility.
Collaborate across disciplines ensuring managers as well as building leaders are included in decisions impacting projects
Engage with city and state agencies including permitting authorities and the State Historic Preservation Office to ensure effortless project approvals and compliance.

What are we looking for
MINIMUM POSITION KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education and Experience:
A degree in Architecture or Engineering from an accredited program.
A licensed Architect or Engineer or in the process of becoming professionally licensed.
Professional experience (minimum 5 years) in architectural design planning and construction management ideally with public sector or consulting backgrounds.
Strong working knowledge of IBC ADAAG and sustainable building practices.
Experience with design and planning software including Revit Bluebeam and MS Office suite.
The ability to balance multiple projects engage diverse stakeholders and communicate complex ideas clearly.
Alternate combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Knowledge of:
The principles and practices of the architectural and civil structural mechanical and electrical engineering fields
Project administration and contract administration principles
The principles and practices of green building and energy efficient design
Ability to:
