Tenure Track Assistant/Associate Professor of Education

Summary

Charleston Southern University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position (Assistant or Associate Professor) in the College of Education beginning August 1 2026. Charleston Southern seeks candidates who are professing Christians and are committed to excellence in teaching scholarship and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore the integration of faith and learning with students. Rank is commensurate with experience.

The successful candidate will teach a secondary science methods course and a broad range of education courses. The candidate must be able to collaborate with teacher education faculty to maintain program excellence and coherence develop and maintain an active research agenda and have a record of exemplary experience as a classroom teacher. All courses are taught on campus. Opportunities to teach in the MEd and EdD programs may be available.

Work Performed

Teach 24 credit hours per academic year
Supervise students during clinical practice
Develop/revise the curriculum to reflect current trends in teacher education programs
Serve as an advisor to CoE majors
Recruit prospective students
Serve on college and university committees
Attend and participate in departmental and university functions.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Education with three years of classroom experience teaching secondary science. Experience in leadership and/or middle grades is preferred.
