Job Summary

Leading long term care and rehabilitation hospital seeks an Infection Prevention Nurse responsible for developing implementing and overseeing the facilitys Infection Prevention and Control Program. This role ensures compliance with all regulatory standards provides staff education monitors infection trends and serves as the primary resource on infection control for all departments.

Responsibilities

Develop implement and maintain infection prevention policies and procedures.
Conduct ongoing surveillance data analysis and reporting of infection trends.
Educate and train staff on infection control practices and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with clinical leaders department heads and employee health to prevent healthcare-associated infections and manage exposure events.
Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate reporting to local and state health departments.
Ensure compliance with CDC CMS OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Participate in Quality Patient Safety and Infection Prevention Committee activities.
Monitor environmental cleaning sterilization and disinfection practices to ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols.
Review and interpret infection prevention data to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff promoting best practices in infection control and patient safety.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Nursing required; Masters preferred.
Current RN license in Pennsylvania.
5 years of clinical nursing experience; prior infection prevention experience preferred.
Completion of an approved infection control course (within one year of hire if not already completed).
BLS certification required.
Membership in APIC or SHEA preferred.
