Job Description:

Liquid Personnel is seeking anexperienced and motivatedOccupational Therapist to join its clients innovative DoubleHanded Project Team in Brent. This service is designed to review and reduce doublehanded care packages where appropriate promoting safe sustainable and personcentred singlehanded care.

You will use your expertise in manual handling equipment provision and environmental adaptation to support individuals in achieving maximum independence and dignity. Working collaboratively with social workers care agencies and wider multidisciplinary teams you will lead on complex case reviews to ensure care delivery is both safe and efficient contributing to least restrictive practice and achieving cost savings across the system.

What will your responsibilities be

  • Undertake comprehensive occupational therapy assessments to identify functional ability care needs and opportunities for singlehanded care
  • Apply advanced manual handling knowledge to prescribe demonstrate and implement suitable moving and handling equipment assistive technology and adaptations
  • Work closely with social workers care agencies and care coordinators to plan trial and implement safe reductions in doublehanded care where appropriate
  • Provide expert training guidance and risk management advice to carers families and support staff in the safe use of equipment and handling techniques
  • Ensure all interventions uphold least restrictive practice principles promoting independence and dignity while maintaining safety
  • Contribute to organisational efficiency through careful review and redesign of care packages that deliver sustainable cost savings without compromising quality of care
  • Prepare clear evidencebased reports risk assessments and recommendations in line with professional standards and statutory requirements
  • Monitor outcomes and provide followup reviews to ensure interventions remain safe effective and personcentred
  • Liaise with DFG (Disabled Facilities Grant) teams reablement services and equipment providers to support holistic care planning
  • Maintain accurate uptodate clinical records in accordance with HCPC and organisational standards

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified and HCPCregistered Occupational Therapist with a solid background in community practice rehabilitation and manual handling
  • Extensive knowledge and practical experience in manual handling and equipment provision
  • Ability to assess and implement singlehanded care solutions safely and effectively
  • Strong partnership working skills with social workers care agencies and other professionals to achieve positive outcomes
  • Understanding of least restrictive practice principles and how these relate to independence dignity and safeguarding
  • Sound clinical reasoning decisionmaking and problemsolving abilities
  • Excellent communication negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to improving efficiency achieving cost savings and ensuring highquality personcentred care
