Specific job description:
Responsible for leading the Transportation Department at NNS which consists of over 60 employees and includes the Shipping Warehouse and Traffic Office that coordinates Domestic and International shipments. A yearly budget of over $4M and equipment valued at over $60M. Equipment consists of CDL stake-body trucks industrial trailers towed by farm tractors semi-tractors with trailers up to 53 feet straddle carriers trains with railcars up to 400 tons freight carriers and barging operations. Coordinates transportation operations to dispatch pick-up transport and deliver over 80000 loads annually. Develops and executes traffic management plans and ensures compliance with regulations. Ensures compliance to DOT (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) DOD and DOE regulations. Communicates with internal and external customers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries of material to meet schedules. Leads continuous improvements in safety engagement employee & leadership development at all levels quality schedule and cost performance to meet established goals. Responsible for day-to-day tactical success continuous improvement projects and long-term strategic transformational initiatives.

Plans schedules and manages the efficient movement of material from receiving or the designated warehouse to production. Manages warehouse inventory for various procured and manufactured material. Coordinates directly with internal / external customers to efficiently support material requirements. Oversees daily operations for multiple work centers to ensure safety quality cost and schedule compliance.
Bachelors Degree and 6 years of applicable progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience; Masters Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
