What You Will Do
  • Develop and deliver programming communications and initiatives that promote academic and personal success.

  • Design and implement outreach and communication strategies to reengage out-of-touch or at-risk students.

  • Monitor student progress and engagement through systems like Blackboard and Starfish creating reports and identifying trends.

  • Provide individualized support and mentoring to help students define and achieve educational and career goals.

  • Collaborate with faculty staff and administrators to advocate for and enhance student success and well-being.

  • Maintain accurate student records confidentiality and current knowledge of campus services to provide one-stop student support.

  • Participate in professional development and contribute data reports and recommendations to improve student success initiatives.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Strong organization tracking data collection time management and follow up skills
  • Exceptional and engaging communication skills using multiple modalities
  • Ability to build relationships work independently and provide good judgment
  • Ability to take initiative pay careful attention to details and maintain confidentiality

    Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree
  • 2 years or more of experience developing and identifying support resources to encourage student engagement retention and persistence
  • 2 or more years of experience providing support in a virtual capacity
  • 2 or more years of experience developing support programs and resources that are transferable to a virtual environment
  • 2 or more years of experience using various contact methods including chat or text

Illinois Residency Requirement:Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.

Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Drivers License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.

Classification: State Universities Civil Service System Classification Number:5002 SUCSS Classification Title. For more information on Civil Service classifications please visit the State Universities Civil Service System website at: Veterans who qualify for preference must provide proof of eligibility within ten (10) working days of submitting an application. The required proof of eligibility includes at a minimum a copy of the veterans DD214/DD215 form (Department of Defense) NGB22 form (National Guard) or Discharge Orders or DD256 Discharge Certificate (Reserves).
