Requirements of the Nurse Practitioner:
- OH NP License
- Copy of Board Certification
- CPR/BLS
- Drug Enforcement Administration certification.
- ANCC
- COVID vaccine card or exemption letter
- Searching for a family or adult-gerontology nurse practitioner licensed to work in Ohio with at least one year of working NP experience in primary care.
Job Summary
1. Patient Care & Clinical Duties
Creates and implements patient care plans; performs advanced nursing duties within licensure
a. Monitors patient progress and intervenes in chronic illness management
b. Performs routine physical exams to assess chronic conditions and identify new ones
c. Evaluates acute and chronically ill patients; prescribes medications and administers treatments
d. Completes discharge planning and follow-up care for individuals with chronic or medical issues
e. Performs minor surgery within training and competency limits
f. Evaluates need for referrals inside or outside the facility
g. Orders and reviews lab x-ray and diagnostic tests
h. Administers inoculations and vaccinations
2. Medical Records Management
Maintains required medical records in accordance with policies and standards
a. Documents medical information from patient interviews
b. Records assessments diagnostic impressions treatment plans and follow-up parameters
c. Cooperates monthly with Chief Medical Officer (CMO) or equivalent for quality oversight
3. Clinical Leadership
Provides direction to registered nurses licensed practical nurses phlebotomists and other caregivers
4. Professional & Agency Participation
Attends required institutional meetings
Participates in continuous quality improvement measures
Attends quarterly medical meetings
Serves as a resource for patients and families regarding health maintenance and risk prevention
Completes in-services and continuing education relevant to nurse practitioner growth
Major Worker Characteristics
Knowledge of advanced nursing practices HIPAA state & federal regulations program management counseling interviewing
Skilled in use of medical and diagnostic equipment; computer operation
Ability to handle sensitive inquiries maintain confidentiality make sound clinical judgments establish rapport with patients/families/staff and follow facility policies
