QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Education: 2 yr degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent strongly preferred.

2. Technology background in an educational setting preferred.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Provide technical assistance to computer system users.
2. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for employees in person via telephone or from remote location.
3. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software including printing installation word processing electronic mail and operating systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: (Include but are not limited to)

1. Answers users inquiries regarding computer software and hardware operation to resolve problems.
2. Confers with staff users and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.
3. Develops training materials and procedures and/or trains users in proper use of hardware and software.
4. Enters commands and observes system functioning to verify correct operations and detecterrors.
5. Installs and performs minor repairs to hardware software and peripheral equipment following design or installation specifications.
6. Maintains record of daily data communication transactions problems and remedial actiontaken and installation activities.
7. Oversees the daily performance of computer systems.
8. Prepares evaluations of software or hardware and recommends improvements or upgrades.
9. Reads technical manuals confers with users and conducts computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems Refers major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
10. Sets up equipment for employee use performing or ensuring proper installation of cableoperating systems and appropriate software.
11. Supervises and coordinates workers engaged in problem-solving monitoring and installing data communication equipment and software.
12. Performs other duties as request by the Technology Director.
