Job Summary
Passionate about books The Kindle Unlimited team is looking for a talented Economist to help invent design and measure innovative science solutions to make it easier for millions of customers to find the next book they will love.
Key job responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Partner with cross-functional teams to leverage advanced economic and causal modeling techniques to drive business insights and decision-making.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on large complex data sets to understand customer behavior pricing dynamics and the incremental impact of business programs and initiatives.
- Design implement and maintain scalable econometric and machine learning solutions to automate and improve key measurement and optimization capabilities.
- Effectively communicate analysis insights and recommendations to influence senior leadership business strategy and roadmap prioritization.
- PhD in economics or equivalent
- Experience in econometrics (e.g. program evaluation forecasting time series panel data or high dimensional problems) economic theory and quantitative methods
- Experience in industry consulting government or academic research
- Experience in analytics and applied economics
- Experience in developing and executing an analytic vision to solve business-relevant problems
- Experience in building statistical models using R Python STATA or a related software
- 4 years of industry consulting government or academic research experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $143300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $247600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
