Unit Secretary - Behavioral Health - Lorain Hospital

This is a Collective Bargaining Unit Position.

Shift/Schedule

• Full Time - Scheduled for 40 Weekly Hours
• Shift Times - Days (7:30a-4p or 8a-4:30p)
• No Weekends or Holidays

General Summary

Functioning as a member of the Care Delivery Team the Secretary IV works under the direction of the Manager and/or RN Team Leader. She/he transcribes physician orders entering them into the computer; plans and organizes patient care records; coordinates communications of pertinent information to health team members and other departments; performs clerical duties according to specific needs; order unit supplies; promotes a positive climate for good interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships.

Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be able to read write and perform simple mathematical computations.
• Successful completion of a Medical Terminology is required within 1 year.
• Possess ability to meet public graciously.
• Ability to type 35 wpm with accuracy required.
• Demonstrate ability to report facts with accuracy follow instructions and complete assignments independently.
• Obtains/maintains annual certification in CPR.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
