Field Service Software System Test Engineer

Primary Function of Position 
Reporting to an engineering team lead this role supports the development prototyping and maintenance of software tools for Intuitive product in the field. Key responsibilities include creating and improving requirements test plans and other documentation; collaborating with cross-functional teams; and proactively identifying opportunities for process and tool improvement. Success in this position will be achieved through deep collaboration with the development team as well as strong cross-functional collaboration attention to detail in testing and documentation and engagement with process and tool improvement.

What youll do

• Assist software engineers with testing and documentation in the prototyping phase for applications that interact with our robot service activities on the robot and the data they generate.
• Assist in the testing and documentation of effective requirements and efficient test strategy for the service software applications and packages.
• Ensure that written requirements and test plans are complete and accurate.
• Explore new usages for internal tools and software and identify opportunities for consolidation and sources of instability.
• Identify opportunities for test automation and design new test cases.
• Collaborate with software engineers system test engineers and product service engineers to improve and sustain released software tools.

Qualifications :

Required Skills and Experience 

• Experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle: Planning Requirements Design Development Testing Deployment Maintenance
• Experience with issue management tools
• Experience with lifecycle or requirements management tools
• Experience with Windows

Required Education and Training 

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering Biomedical Engineering or related field or 5 years industry experience in software or test engineering
• 3 years of software or test engineering experience

Preferred Skills and Experience 

• Experience with Linux
• Experience with test automation tools (e.g. Jenkins)
• Experience with Python C MATLAB and/or QML

We provide market-competitive compensation packages inclusive of base pay incentives benefits and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role as actual pay will be determined based on several factors including experience skills and qualifications.
