Primary Purpose:
Assist in the preparation and serving of nutritious attractive meals to students and staff in accordance with federal state and local guidelines. Maintain a clean safe and sanitary kitchen and cafeteria environment that supports the overall educational mission of the school.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED (preferred)
Food handlers certification (required or ability to obtain upon hire)
Previous food service experience (preferred)
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Food Preparation and Service
Assist with preparing cooking and serving food according to established menus and portion guidelines.
Follow standardized recipes and ensure proper food temperatures and quality.
Set up serving lines and restock items as needed during meal service.
Provide courteous and efficient service to students staff and visitors.
Sanitation and Safety
Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment utensils and serving areas daily.
Maintain compliance with health safety and sanitation standards as required by local and state regulations.
Store food and supplies properly to prevent spoilage or contamination.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries; rotate stock as necessary.
Teamwork and Communication
Work cooperatively with other cafeteria staff and school personnel.
Follow all district policies and supervisor instructions.
Report equipment or safety issues immediately to the cafeteria manager or principal.
