We are looking for an Installation Specialist IV to join our team!

The Service Department is responsible for servicing and installing various natural gas appliances (residential and commercial) setting and maintaining residential and light commercial meters restoring gas service to customers and responding to after-hours and emergency calls.

Important Note: This role is considered safety sensitive and as such you may be required to undergo various background screenings. This may include but is not limited to a driving record abstract criminal check a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

This position reports to our Asheville Operations Center in Asheville North Carolina.

What You Will Do:

• Assists in the installation of natural gas appliances meters and facilities in an efficient and safe manner while achieving excellent customer service.
• Uses Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) to distribute and route work orders to computers mounted in company vehicles.
• Lights gas pilots on natural gas residential and/or commercial appliances.
• Completes minor appliance repairs.
• Runs customer fuel lines.
• Completes appropriate paperwork in writing and on the computer.
• Safely drives a company vehicle.
• Operator Qualifications involve written guidelines and requirements natural gas employees must follow to ensure the safe and responsible operation of natural gas pipelines. Required annual Operator Qualification testing involves both written and hands-on components to ensure those who perform covered safety-sensitive tasks on the natural gas system are trained knowledgeable and qualified.

Who You Are:

Installation Specialist IV (6 - 18 months experience)*
*highest level an applicant can be hired.

• Completed high school or equivalent (i.e. GED)
• Possess a valid drivers license with a safe driving history.
• Ability to understand and follow safety and environmental policies procedures and protocols.
• Must have knowledge and skills with common hand and power tools.
• Effective communication skills for positive customer interactions are critical.
• Ability to work in enclosed areas such as crawl spaces basements and attics.
• Ability to work on elevated areas such as roofs and utilize ladders scaffolding and lifts.
• Ability to adhere to safe working and defensive driving procedures.
• Willingness to work as a team member within a diverse team.
• Basic computer and internet navigation skills.
• Ability to serve as a natural gas emergency responder.
• Availability for overtime and after-hours on-call work (including weekends and holidays if needed).

Must be willing and able to meet a 45-minute emergency response time from the geographical center of the Asheville area. Emergency response time is a critical measure for the Company and candidates are required to consistently meet this requirement including when on-call.

Preferred Knowledge Skills Abilities & Experience:

A demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures.

A good mechanical aptitude.

A demonstrated ability to use and comprehend mathematical calculations and formulas.

Bilingual (Spanish) candidates.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in customers premise as well as outside in varying weather conditions (i.e. cold heat rain etc.)
• Position works around fumes energized wires dust/grease/oil and in confined spaces.
• Position works in enclosed areas such as crawl spaces basements and attics as well as elevated areas such as roofs and utilize ladders scaffolding and lifts.
• Position may encounter agitated/upset customers.

Physical Requirements (Include but are not limited to):
