The City of Emeryville California is seeking a collaborative and innovative Accounting Manager to oversee the Citys accounting operations and help lead ongoing financial modernization efforts. This role offers a unique opportunity to strengthen fiscal integrity advance process improvements and contribute to the operational excellence of a service-driven organization. The Accounting Manager supervises a team of five staff responsible for all Citywide accounting functions while serving as a key advisor to the Finance Director and organizational leadership. They play a central role in evaluating and updating financial policies and procedures modernizing accounting systems and enhancing transparency and efficiency through data-driven practices. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge and a strong understanding of public sector finance; leading by example mentoring staff and building strong relationships across departments and with external partners.
