Job Summary

Location: Horizon Distributors; Supporting 6 Horizon branches across North Texas including Dallas McKinney Frisco Richardson and Tyler TX.

What to Expect

The Zone Manager exercises complete responsibility for developing and managing two business operations that increases sales profitability market share and customer and employee satisfaction.

On a daily basis our Zone Manager:

  • Manages a team of branch managers within a zone and adjusts sales goals and procedures as appropriate for each sales center based on goals set for the region.

  • Assesses local market conditions identifies current and prospective sales opportunities and develops forecasts financial objectives and business plans for the branches.

  • Researches analyzes and implements strategic and marketing plans and recommends desirable changes in the policies and goals of the branches and the organization.

  • Grows the business through new product development complementary product development and new customer and market development.

  • Assumes responsibility for branches P&L to meet branch region and corporate profitability goals and objectives. Conducts monthly reviews of branch P&L with branch managers and regional managers.

  • Interacts with customers to develop customer relationships and to ensure that all requirements are being met.

  • Hires develops and evaluates employees to achieve corporate and personal objectives.

  • Complies with equal employment opportunity laws regulations and company policies related to discrimination in hiring firing promotion and compensation.

  • Responsible for safeguarding all company assets including inventory cash equipment vehicles and facilities.

  • Implements and monitors all company policies and procedures for safe efficient branch operations.

  • Participates actively in community business and industry organizations to build a network of contacts that improve the presence and reputation of the branches and company in the assigned geographic region.

  • Follows high ethical standards and complies with all government regulations.

  • Maintains proficiency in computerized systems and other technologies as required.

  • Business travel up to 40% of time.

  • Performs any directly related appropriate duties assigned by the regional manager.

  • Other non-essential job duties may be assigned.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelors Degree or 5 years experience in a sales or operations management position for a multi-store company; experience in industrial distribution warehousing or equivalent.

  • Solid product knowledge in one or more of the following products: irrigation products fertilizers / chemicals landscaping equipment or lighting outdoor living products.

  • Ability to lead coach delegate and inspire in a clear positive and effective manner.

  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

  • Excellent organization & time management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects of various size with successful results.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

  • Hold a valid drivers license a satisfactory driving record and is willing to travel within a designated area.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Preferred
