Role Overview
The Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Mars Veterinary Health (MVH) Europe operates to the highest ethical legal and professional standards.
This position combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution helping to embed compliance into daily business practices and support sustainable growth across multiple European jurisdictions. The role will have a pan-European scope with a particular focus on the UK & Ireland and Mediterranean & Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Operating Units.
You will play an active part in strengthening MVH Europes compliance framework ensuring that all associates understand their responsibilities and that systems and processes effectively manage risks.
This includes supporting cross-functional projects driving training and awareness and serving as the Compliance and Privacy point of contact for local and regional stakeholders.
Youll also play a key role in interpreting new European legislation (such as the AI Act CSDDD and CSRD) and translating complex requirements into actionable and pragmatic guidance for the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage data privacy processes including privacy incident reporting privacy impact assessments data processing agreements (in collaboration with Procurement colleagues) maintenance of ROPAs and compliance with retention schedules.
- Manage Data Subject Access Requests and Data Protection Authority interactions.
- Provide daily guidance and support to the business on general Compliance-related topics such as conflicts of interests and anti-corruption.
- Support internal investigations
- Monitor regulatory developments (e.g. AI Act CSDDD and CSRD) and ensure organizational compliance.
- Manage and coordinate compliance training programs including development delivery and reporting.
- Develop tools and processes to monitor and improve the maturity of the compliance program.
- Support M&A activities and onboarding processes with compliance and data privacy due diligence.
- Represent Compliance as a privacy subject matter expert in Operating Unit strategic projects with particular emphasis on marketing activities

Qualifications & Experience
- University degree in Law IT Political Science or other relevant field; however actual experience is more important than educational credentials
- Fluent English is a must additional European language(s) is a merit
- Good grasp of the Office 365 package; ability to quickly learn how to get around new IT tools and systems
- Experience of hosting trainings and working in Learning Management Systems is beneficial
- Experience of working in OneTrust is a plus
- Relevant certifications are a plus such as CIPP/E
Required Skills & Expertise
- 3 years experience in Compliance Data Privacy Sustainability or related functions.
- Deep knowledge of GDPR FCPA UK Bribery Act LkSG and similar frameworks.
- Experience in risk assessments audits (internal or supplier) and compliance systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365; familiarity with OneTrust is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CIPP/E) are advantageous.
- Strong self-motivation pragmatism and result-oriented mindset.
