Reception Teacher Wandsworth

An engaging Wandsworth primary is seeking a creative and skilful Reception Teacher to lead the Early Years class from January 2026. The successful Reception Teacher will be invited to planning sessions prior to January 2026 will attend a comprehensive induction in January 2026 and will take up teaching duties from January 2026. Our Reception Teacher will plan language-rich continuous provision lead systematic phonics and design a play-led curriculum that secures the Early Learning Goals. The Reception Teacher will establish routines that promote independence talk and number confidence and will work closely with support staff and families from the first week after January 2026.

Reception Teacher Responsibilities
The Reception Teacher will: plan and deliver daily systematic phonics and talk-for-writing as the Reception Teacher; design continuous provision that builds vocabulary and physical development as the Reception Teacher; assess and track children against the Early Learning Goals and communicate progress to parents as the Reception Teacher. The Reception Teacher will run focused early numeracy sessions and lead transition planning for Year 1 before and after January 2026.

Reception Teacher Requirements
We seek a Reception Teacher with QTS/EYTS or equivalent secure Early Years subject knowledge and confident phonics delivery. The Reception Teacher should be reflective organised and a strong communicator with families and colleagues. Availability for pre-term planning before January 2026 induction in January 2026 and a classroom start in January 2026 is essential for the Reception Teacher.
