Contract: 1 Year (Extendable up to 24 Months)
Project Overview
The Government of Albertas Digital Design and Delivery Division (3D) plays a strategic role in driving digital transformation innovation and modernization across the province. As part of this mandate 3D focuses on expanding the digital delivery of government services to make interactions with the Government of Alberta simpler faster and more user-friendly.
The division serves as the provinces centre for digital delivery ensuring service quality and value through human-centred design agile methodologies and modern data practices. It partners with ministries to design and deliver digital solutions that better serve Albertans by improving accessibility usability and overall service experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop creative evidence-based front-end design solutions aligned with GoA design standards.
- Produce design artifacts - prototypes wireframes design systems and style guides.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform and validate designs.
- Provide clear justified design recommendations for teams and stakeholders.
- Ensure accessibility compliance (WCAG) and inclusive design principles.
- Participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning reviews retrospectives).
- Collaborate across ministries to improve user experience and service delivery.
Qualifications
Must Have (2 Years Each):
- Experience designing and enhancing web and digital services.
- Experience developing UX artifacts (journey maps prototypes storyboards etc.).
- Experience working in agile cross-functional product teams.
Nice to Have (2 Years Each):
- Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems.
- Experience designing for multiple platforms (web mobile etc.).
- Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design.
- Proficiency with tools such as Figma Adobe XD Sketch or Axure.
- Experience in public sector digital transformation environments.
