About the Role
On behalf of our client a leading global SaaS and Fintech company developing cloud-based business platforms used by millions of users in Asia.
They specialize in financial management and HR solutions that help enterprises digitize operations and optimize performance.
Our client is hiring a Principal Engineer (Ruby on Rails) to join their Vietnam product engineering team. Youll take the lead in building and optimizing backend systems for a large-scale HR SaaS product while mentoring other engineers and ensuring system performance and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop backend services that can handle large-scale data and complex business logic.
Architect and optimize database design to meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
Write clean maintainable and scalable code in Ruby on Rails.
Continuously refactor and improve code quality and performance.
Monitor system performance identify bottlenecks and implement performance tuning.
Ensure application reliability security and scalability in production.
Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers.
Collaborate closely with international product teams to align on technical direction and delivery quality.
Requirements
8 years of experience in backend development with 45 years focusing on Ruby on Rails.
Proven experience in system architecture design & API integration with external systems.
Strong understanding of SOLID principles design patterns and engineering best practices.
Hands-on experience with MySQL/PostgreSQL including performance tuning and optimization.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Docker.
Experience with application performance monitoring E2E testing and automation frameworks.
Deep understanding of web security and data protection principles.
Leadership experience in leading/mentoring engineering teams.
Strong English communication skills (technical discussion & cross-team collaboration).
A strong sense of ownership accountability and problem-solving mindset.
(Nice-to-have)
Experience with AWS or other cloud infrastructure.
Knowledge of frontend technologies (TypeScript ReactJSVueJS etc.)
Experience operating production systems in a SaaS environment.
Passion for mentoring and helping others grow technically.
