Business Analyst (Data)

Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on data-oriented Business Analyst to support global technology and data initiatives. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical thinking with advanced SQL proficiency and a solid understanding of financial data. This role involves collaborating with product owners business stakeholders and technical teams to translate complex business questions into clear data requirements actionable insights and measurable outcomes.

You will play a key role in defining requirements mapping data flows validating data quality and driving analytical deliverables in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business objectives into precise requirements user stories and acceptance criteria and maintain a prioritized analytics backlog using tools like Jira.
  
• Write and review SQL queries to explore datasets validate business logic identify root causes of data issues and ensure accuracy across systems.
  
• Own and maintain data mapping documentation business requirement documents and contribute to data lineage and cataloging initiatives.
  
• Collaborate with data engineering and reporting teams to design and deliver impactful dashboards and analytical reports.
  
• Manage and track data-related incidents and requests ensuring timely resolution and clear communication with stakeholders.
  
• Establish and maintain data quality controls investigate anomalies and recommend long-term corrective measures.
  
• Support Agile delivery practices participating in relevant ceremonies and keeping all stakeholders informed with concise updates and risk assessments.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• 35 years of experience as a Data or Business Analyst with proven expertise in SQL (joins CTEs window functions) and handling large datasets.
  
• Strong background in financial data analysis; exposure to private equity or asset management is highly preferred.
  
• Demonstrated ability to perform root-cause analysis and deliver data-driven insights that inform business decisions.
  
• Exceptional attention to detail with strong skills in requirements gathering data reconciliation documentation and process mapping.
  
• Hands-on experience with SQL and cloud data warehouses (e.g. Snowflake Redshift BigQuery).
  
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with at least one BI tool (e.g. Power BI Tableau Sigma).
  
• Experience with Jira and ServiceNow for backlog and incident management; knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skillsable to clearly convey complex data concepts to both technical and business audiences.
