About the role
Our team is growing! HealthFitness is hiring a full-time Lifeguard (40 hours/week) at our client site in Anna Ohio - approximately 25 miles South of Lima. This role is perfect for individuals who value safety enjoy helping others and want to stay active in a welcoming aquatic environment.

Full-time: 40 hours/week
Facility Hours: M-F 9:30 AM 5:30 PM with occasional Saturday rotation approximately 1x/month
Key Accountabilities
- Monitor and ensure safety and well-being of patrons using the aquatic facilities.
- Enforce and explain rules as necessary.
- Respond appropriately to any emergency.
- Perform chemical testing and documents results for three bodies of water and a hot tub four times a day.
- Attend all required staff meetings and training.
- Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members.
- Maintain a professional attitude.
- Other duties as needed/assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.*Site may be able to provide Red Cross Lifeguard certification training at discounted rate.
- Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards.
- Be dependable alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills.
- Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system databases and tools.
- Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test.
All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of:
- 500 yard swim.
- Active Passive Submerged rescues.
- Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water.
- Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program.
