Organisational Profile
GEGAC is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation based in Bairnsdale Victoria. Consisting of about 180 staff GEGAC is a Not-for-Profit organisation that delivers holistic services in the areas of Primary Health Social Services Elders & Disability and Early Childhood Education.
GEGAC advocates for the self-determination of the Aboriginal community by prioritising services that enhance social emotional and spiritual wellbeing with culture at the heart of everything we do.
Position Purpose
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Manager provides leadership and oversight of all technology systems and digital services within GEGAC ensuring that technology enables and enhances the organisations strategic objectives and supports staff in achieving their operational priorities. This includes maintaining developing and securing all internal hosted and virtualised ICT infrastructure as well as managing access systems in collaboration with the System Network Administrator and external IT support partners.
The role focuses on building digital capability across GEGAC by supporting and developing staff implementing innovative solutions and strengthening system reliability and data security. The ICT Manager plays a key role in promoting good governance ensuring cultural safety in technology use and delivering ICT strategies that empower GEGACs self-determination and enhance outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Key Selection Criteria
Demonstrated understanding of working within an Aboriginal Cultural framework.
Strong knowledge of ICT systems including Microsoft 365 cloud environments server management networking and cybersecurity best practices.
Strong financial management skills including oversight of ICT budgets procurement and resource allocation.
Proven ability to identify implement and manage ICT systems and applications that improve organisational efficiency and service delivery.
Demonstrate a proven ability to research and disseminate information to a variety of recipients using methods that promote understanding. Ability to teach and inform staff regarding new programs and processes.
Experience in project management contract negotiation and vendor relationship management.
Strong report-writing and presentation skills including the preparation of clear and informative reports for Executive and Board consideration.
Proven ability to complete work within a given timeframe and to prioritise work to ensure smooth running of the organisations ICT system.
Qualifications and Registrations Requirement (Essential or Desirable).
Tertiary qualification in Information and Communication Technology Computer Science Information Systems or a related discipline; or significant equivalent professional experience ESSENTIAL
Valid drivers licence ESSENTIAL
Demonstrated experience in ICT management systems administration or a senior technical leadership role within a complex organisation ESSENTIAL
A satisfactory Working with Children Check and Fit2Work Police Check ESSENTIAL
A person of Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander background DESIRABLE
Proof of COVID-19 vaccinated to align with GEGAC requirements ESSENTIAL
