The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is responsible for managing and protecting the states renewable natural resources including all wildlife and aquatic life. This position is located in the Enforcement Division within the Office of the Secretary. The incumbent of this position will assist in addressing the challenges of recruiting and retaining a diverse and effective workforce. This includes but not limited to identifying and attracting talent from a diverse pool ensuring every candidate is treated fairly verifying that the application and screening process is bias-free working closely with human resources participate in establishing policies that enhance the agencys hiring process and indirectly supervising personnel responsible for other talent acquisition functions.

Minimum Qualifications

Three years of experience in administrative services; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR

A bachelors degree.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:
As an Administrative Program Specialist A you will perform responsible duties related to :

  • payroll management
  • maintain files and report management
  • manages the operations of the Region 6 office including fiscal responsibility for purchasing and budgetary reporting
  • coordination of program information by maintaining databases and generating reports
  • maintaining information integrity
  • may present in workshops and meetings etc.
  • ensuring program compliance to Federal and State Regulations

Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type:Probational Promotional or Job Appointment

  • Current permanent status classified state employees may be required to accept a Probational appointment if selected. If filled as a Job Appointment there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a Probational Appointment should funding become available.

Location:This position is located within the Enforcement Division of the Office of the Secretary in Thibodeaux.
