Eatons Electrical Critical Power Solutions Division is currently seeking a Lead Power Electronics Engineer to join our team. This position will be a hybrid office (3 days in-office 2 days remote) role as long as you live within 50 miles of our Raleigh NC facility. Relocation benefits and sponsorship will be provided within the United States only.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $99749 - $146299 a year.

What youll do;
Lead new product development projects working with global cross-functional engineering team to launch new products including SiC three-phase UPSs from 10kW to 3MW and Lithium Ion 1MW and larger energy storage systems for maintaining critical loads such as datacenters and hospital.
Develop system architecture select topology and overall design for new products. Create product specifications from customer requirements and break them down into functional specifications for sub-systems.
Evaluate alternative design solutions to meet customer and product development requirements factoring in cost performance and schedule.
Review data and simulate power electronics analog logical and digital circuits including transient and state machine change analyses. Drive technical excellence and rigor through simulations and Design for Six Sigma concepts.
Lead product development projects and be accountable for meeting cost product performance and schedule goals.
Interface with vendors on component technical issues including data sheet clarification component performance and design solutions.
Assist product program and engineering managers in developing cost targets product specifications and program schedules to align with business goals.
Lead product DVT and validation testing in the lab with a team of engineers and technicians.
Leverage your skill and experience by giving guidance and leadership to other technical project team members.
Work with global product development teams to solve problems related to performance functionality safety reliability quality and component availability.


Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with minimum 5 years work experience in power electronic circuit design
OR
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 2 years work experience in power electronic circuit design



Preferred Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Experience with Inverter theory/knowledge knowledge battery systems and protective devices including power distribution.
Knowledge of three-phase power systems power electronics utility interface and power conversion topologies.
Experience with Design for Six Sigma tools
Experience interacting with Global teams
Position Criteria:
Experience with digital control and algorithms to power electronics systems.
Understanding of Magnetics Design for high frequency Power Electronics.
Ability to simulate analyze troubleshoot using HIL systems.
Competent with Matlab/Simulink/PLECS and PSPICE.
Analyze and simulate power electronics systems from board level to complex products.
Familiarity with schematic entry and PCB design tools like Altium Cadence etc.
Understanding of layout design principles.
Excellent verbal/ written communications.
Position requires an individual who is self-motivated self-managed team-oriented proactive attentive to detail task oriented and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements.
Familiarity with common tools and methods to work in high power lab (480V) environment oscilloscope power analyzers and meters.
Work in lab environment around high voltage where safety awareness is critical.
