We are looking for an experienced data solution architects to join our growing capability. As a data solution architect you will be responsible for driving the vision for data use in our organization and aligning our data structure integration approaches and solution designs to organizational standards compliance needs and to match business requirements. This role is to support a large multi-year program modernising our application landscape where in establishing and aligning our data into the broader ecosystem is imperative.
Responsibilities
Define the solution and data architecture for our data assets in line with business and technical requirements
Make suitable choices in technology framework and pattern to deliver our data assets
Support our delivery teams in building high quality data assets which are supportable and maintainable
Communicate socialize and collaborate on designs and solution architecture with engineers project managers and stakeholders
Own and maintain the data and solution architectures for our application estate
Contribute and align our application date into our Data Strategy
Specify the data management standards to ensure data integrity quality security confidentiality and compliance with legal requirements
Develop solutions for data storage management and processing using the appropriate technologies (e.g. relational DBs data lakes etc.)
Designs logic and solutions to manage data flows across systems and solutions identifying and addressing potential issues and bottlenecks
Ensures the creation of appropriate documentation of data assets
Provide cost projections for the developing and operating data platforms
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field preferred; but degrees from other fields accepted with a track record of relevant experience.
Extensive and demonstrable experience of data lakes data warehouses reporting solutions and the common architectural patterns associated with and adjacent to these types of solutions.
Experience with modernizing and normalizing legacy data models and aligning them into a CDM and integration into a wider data ecosystem including data lakes data warehouses or comparable data solutions in a financial services organization or similar large and regulated organization.
Extensive and demonstrable experience in:
oCommunicating designs down to engineering teams and project managers for delivery
oCollaborating with senior engineers and architecture peers on designs and;
oIn considering design in terms of deliverability business value and business benefits
Strong experience working on Azure with Databricks and Snowflake and in building solutions on these platforms.
Strong understanding of Spark as a framework as well as SQL and Python as languages; and their associated ecosystem on our technology stack.
Experience in designing data structures for relational and non-relational data systems.
Experience in data modelling schema management data cataloguing and performance turning of data structures for varied downstream data consumption needs.
