Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chairside assisting excellent patient care skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols
  • Assist dentists during various procedures including fillings crowns extractions and root canals
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
  • Prepare and mix dental materials such as impressions cements and temporary materials
  • Provide chairside support and anticipate dentists needs during procedures
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene post-operative care and treatment plans
  • Manage patient records and update charts in dental software systems
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate with the front office as needed
  • Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and equipment
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and state dental board regulations

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
  • 3-5 years of experience as a dental assistant
  • Current CPR certification
  • X-ray certification (as required by state)
  • Proficiency with dental software (Dentrix Eaglesoft or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential
  • Expanded functions certification
  • Experience with digital imaging
