Dental Assistant

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chairside assisting excellent patient care skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following infection control protocols
- Assist dentists during various procedures including fillings crowns extractions and root canals
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays)
- Prepare and mix dental materials such as impressions cements and temporary materials
- Provide chairside support and anticipate dentists needs during procedures
- Educate patients on oral hygiene post-operative care and treatment plans
- Manage patient records and update charts in dental software systems
- Schedule appointments and coordinate with the front office as needed
- Maintain inventory of clinical supplies and equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and state dental board regulations
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program
- 3-5 years of experience as a dental assistant
- Current CPR certification
- X-ray certification (as required by state)
- Proficiency with dental software (Dentrix Eaglesoft or similar)
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential
- Expanded functions certification
- Experience with digital imaging
