We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant (Accounts Receivables) to support a growing regional advocacy organization. This full-time onsite contract-to-hire opportunity offers a dynamic environment where youll play a key role in managing core accounts receivable functions. The ideal candidate will have Staff Accountant level experience focused in full-cycle accounts receivable journal entries reconciliations and reporting.
- Salary : $30.00 - $32.00 (DOE)
- Temp to Hire
- The role is 100% onsite in Sacramento.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage full-cycle accounts receivable including invoice generation billing review recurring schedules and aging report maintenance.
- Coordinate with supervisors and department managers to implement collection strategies and minimize outstanding balances.
- Respond to customer inquiries resolve billing discrepancies and support evaluations for bad debt and write-offs.
- Process credit memos credit card payments and identify cash receipts as needed.
- Prepare documentation for commissions bonuses and reconcile accounts receivable and deferred revenue accounts.
- Support operational activities such as fleet reporting postage allocations lobbyist reporting and audit/tax preparation.
- Assist with financial statement preparation process documentation ad hoc reporting and maintain organized filing of work products
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree or equivalent professional experience in accounting or finance.
- Minimum of 3years of experience in Accounts Receivables with familiarity in GAAP and general accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Word Outlook) and Windows OS; experience with NetSuite is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail accuracy and ability to manage tasks independently while meeting deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to support collaboration across teams and with external stakeholders.
